Professional Footballers: fatigued, unsure and just plain full of it!

Latest football news from Globet Bookmaker

Here’s some of today’s top footballing new clips from the team at Globet.

Shevchenko blames Chelsea struggle on fatigue
Sheva said: “I have already more or less adapted to English football, to the team, to the way we play – and you need time for that. Everything’s going as it should.  “If there are to be obstacles in front of me at this stage of my career, I’ll make sure I overcome them.

“I have always had confidence in myself. But football is a tricky sport. It’s not always possible to be on top form, especially after the kind of season I had last year, when tiredness and injuries built up.”

Reyes unsure over Arsenal return
The Spaniard has struggled to maintain a place in coach Fabio Capello’s first team and said: “We all must improve, not just me, but everyone here in many things. We are not playing good football, the sort that everyone would like to see, but the main thing is to win and to move up the table.

“With every day that passes, I try to do my best. I don’t know what will happen. The truth is I wasn’t happy there (at Arsenal), but right now I don’t have to think about Arsenal or London, only that I am in Spain, in Madrid.”

Viana: Man Utd not big enough to keep Ronaldo
Now with Valencia, Viana said of his Portugal teammate: “Now he is among the three best players in the world. The other two would be Ronaldinho and Deco. He worked hard to get there and he will soon leave to join another more important team than Manchester (United).

“It will be difficult for a team like Man U to keep him. If Barcelona or Real Madrid really want him, they will sign him. He does not have much else to do in Manchester. Spain, in addition, is a perfect league for him.”

Djemba-Djemba: I’ve convinced Ronaldo to stay with Man Utd
“Every time I see him I tell him to stay where he is,” said Djemba-Djemba. “And I think he understands that. He has told me he wants to stay at United.

“The manager at United likes him, the players like him and the fans like him. So why should he go? He has so many opportunities in Manchester, a great manager and everybody there will help him achieve all his ambitions. He is settled, so there is no reason for him to go anywhere else. He knows that. Everything is going well for him now, but who knows what might happen if he changed clubs and went abroad?
“He can wait to move to a club like Barcelona or Real Madrid, because he is still only 22.”

Despite failing to make a success of his United career, Djemba-Djemba is desperate for them to beat Chelsea to the title.  “I think United need to win it and Ferguson needs it,” he said. “Four years is a long time for a club like United to go without winning the Premiership. And I think Ferguson will retire when he has won the title again. That’s what’s driving him on.”

Celtic signing Perrier-Doumbe has no Bolton regrets
The former Rennes defender told The Herald: “I did not hesitate when Celtic offered me the chance of a two-day trial.

“Bolton had been in touch, and invited me to spend a few days with them, but the problem was I arrived there during a spell of bad weather, and I was not able to train at all. In an instant I decided I would not stay with them for another week, and keep Celtic waiting. I think I have made the right choice. I was impressed by the standard of Celtic’s players.

“No matter what anyone says, Celtic are one of Europe’s legendary clubs. They have incredible fans and wonderful training facilities. What more could I ask for? I want us to make sure of the title, as we are not quite there yet, and hope to settle in quickly.”  If he impresses, Perrier-Doumbe could activate a two-year permanent contract at Parkhead.
