England’s World Cup chances fade according to bookies.

England’s World Cup odds have drifted to 7/1 from 6/1 with Irish bookmaker Paddy Power following their lacklustre performance against Japan yesterday – with England needing two late own-goals to scrape a 2-1 victory.

England are now joint third best with Argentina behind tournament favourites Spain at 4/1 and Brazil at 5/1.
