MLB Odds: Yankees, Red Sox Resume Ancient Rivalry
It’s one of the most ancient and enduring rivalries in US sports – the New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox.
These two ballclubs have faced each other 2,137 times over the past 115 years, with the Yankees holding a 1,161-962 advantage heading into their latest series at Fenway Park. Game 1 of this three-game set takes place Friday night at 7:10 PM ET on the MLB Network.

After eliminating their fierce Spanish rivals Barcelona in the quarterfinals, Atletico Madrid have another big task in the Champions League as they host German powerhouse Bayern Munich in the first leg of the semifinals on Wednesday.

Atletico has been on a roll since they edged Barcelona 3-2 over two legs in the quarterfinals, winning their last five games, including a 2-0 win over Barcelona in Game 2 of the quarter-finals at home. Bayern held on for a tough 3-2 aggregate win over Benfica, including a nail-biting 2-2 away draw in the second leg. Arturo Vidal scored in both legs and Thomas Muller added one in the second leg; Bayern has won three in a row since that game. They return to the semifinals – where they lost to Barcelona last season.
This is the third time that these two teams have met. They faced each other in two legs of the 1974 European Cup Final. The first leg resulted in a 1-1 draw, and Bayern scooped up a 4-0 win in the second leg.
