Hatton defeat saves bookies £10m
December 10th, 2007
Ricky Hatton’s tenth round defeat to ‘Pretty Boy’ Floyd Mayweather in Las Vegas over the weekend saved UK bookmakers from their largest ever payout on a British sportsman.
Around £20 million was wagered on the fight, which would have seen bookmakers lose £10 million if ‘The Hitman’ had won.
(ie you were in good company if you lost a tad on this sports betting flutter)
