October 5th, 2006

The City of Manchester Stadium has been selected to host the Uefa Cup final in 2008 by Uefa’s executive committee.

The new Wembley Stadium has been turned down in its bid to host the Champions League final in either 2008 or 2009.

The Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow and the Stadio Olimpico in Rome will host the 2008 and 2009 Uefa Champions League finals respectively – while the 2009 Uefa Cup final will be played in the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium in Istanbul.
