Footballing X Factor

Here’s top Irish Bookmaker, Paddy Power’s latest Cash Back offer (X Factor) and his thoughts on some Champions League action and the FA Cup outright market.

Champions League: Account On An Upset
Lille played a huge part in knocking Man Utd out of the Champions’ League at the group stages last season and Peter Odemwingie believes that his team-mates can repeat the trick in the 1st knockout round this year. The striker issued a warning to the Red Devils by declaring “we may not have the fat bank accounts like United players, but in order to show we deserve the money they are getting, we have to kick them out.” He can be as confident as he wants but after Sir Alex rested his stars over the weekend, we reckon the simple truth is that the French side have a fat chance of making it to the quarter finals!

Man Utd 10/11 (1.91)
Draw 9/4 (3.25)
Lille 3/1 (4.00)

FA CUP: Roman’s Empire
Winning the FA Cup is a great achievement but somehow we reckon that if that’s the only thing that the Chelsea staff are putting in the Stamford Bridge trophy cabinet at the end of the season, Roman Abramovich won’t feel like he has got a good return on his 8 gazillion pound investment. Roman turned up to watch the Blues negotiate their way past Norwich, prompting the Special One to pretend he was ignoring it by saying “we work for him and this is his club. He comes back to his house. It is not our house.” You may not want to put the house on it, but with Man Utd and Arsenal facing tricky replays, you have to fancy Chelsea to avoid further Cup-sets!

Paddy’s outright markets:
Chelsea 13/8  (2.62)
Man Utd 11/4  (3.75)
Arsenal 9/2     (5.50)
